Composed of topographical nouns, Boedi's bilingual poem encodes multiple linguistic references that have preoccupied his practice - motherland, psychogeographies, the natural terroir, family trees and origin myths. When re-ordered, the poem generates 24 permutations. Boedi recorded his father reading the 24 versions of the poem. His father also wrote the poems in a book. Across several days, the artist randomly played his father’s reading, and traced his father’s writing on the 9m wall, eventually covering it with the repeated text-as-image.
